Kate Krueger Named BIG EAST Tennis Female Athlete of The Week

Krueger finished weekend 4-0 at top singles and doubles positions
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton women's tennis freshman Kate Krueger earned BIG EAST Tennis Female Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced on Tuesday.
The Bluejay freshman finished 4-0 over the weekend as Creighton defeated Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Colorado at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
Krueger posted a three-set victory in the No. 1 singles match against the Mavericks on Friday night to clinch the dual for the Bluejays. She also paired with Sarah Wilcox for a 6-2 win over UNO at the top doubles slot.
The freshman continued her perfect weekend with a 6-1 victory with Wilcox at the No. 1 doubles position and a 6-4, 6-3 win in the top singles match against Northern Colorado on Saturday afternoon.
Krueger is tied for the team-lead with six singles wins (6-4), while teaming with Wilcox for a 7-2 mark at No. 1 doubles. The Omaha native is 6-0 at home in both singles and doubles action as the Bluejays are unbeaten during six matches played this season at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
Creighton heads to Orlando for four matches next week at the USTA National Campus. The Bluejays first match of the week is scheduled for Monday against Sioux Falls.
