Papillion standout helped Creighton go 2-0 on the road
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball's Norah Sis has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season, and second consecutive week.
Sis averaged 3.33 kills, 3.67 digs, 1.00 blocks and 0.33 aces per set on .308 hitting as Creighton picked up dominating road sweeps at Georgetown and Villanova over the weekend.
Â
The Papillion, Neb., product had a match-best eight kills to go with 15 digs, three blocks and a pair of aces in Creighton's 3-0 sweep vs. Georgetown on Friday afternoon.
Â
She then contributed 12 kills on season-high .500 hitting, also contributing seven digs and three blocks vs. Villanova in a 3-0 blanking of the Wildcats.
Â
Sis' week made her one of two players in the BIG EAST who is averaging 3.00 kills and 3.00 digs per set this season, joining teammate Jaela Zimmerman.
The six Freshman of the Week honors by Sis gives her one more than the amount won by teammate Kendra Wait, as the two Bluejay rookies have now combined to win 11-of-12 weekly awards this fall.Â
Ranked 23rd nationally in last week's AVCA poll, Creighton (26-3, 14-2 BIG EAST) hosts Seton Hall on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before taking on St. John's on Sunday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. The Bluejays can clinch at least a share of their eighth straight BIG EAST regular-season title with two wins this weekend, which would also lock up the No. 1 seed for next week's BIG EAST Championship in Milwaukee.
