Volleyball Holds Steady in RPI; Moves to 22nd in AVCA Poll

Bluejays are in AVCA poll for 12th straight week
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Volleyball team remained 12th in the second-to-last RPI of the regular-season and fell one spot to No. 22 in this week's AVCA Top 25 poll.
The Bluejays, winners of 11 straight, own an nation-best 28 wins just six days prior to Selection Sunday for the NCAA Volleyball Championships. Creighton improved to 28-3 overall with 3-0 sweeps over the weekend against Seton Hall and St. John's, which clinched a share of the program's league-record eighth consecutive BIG EAST regular-season title. Creighton also leads the nation with 87 set victories and is second with 11 true road wins.and 17 wins away from home.

The Bluejays, who have been as high as No. 16 this season in the AVCA poll, have now been ranked in each of the last 12 weeks and 89 times in program history. That figure ranks 47th-most in history. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017. Creighton is 142-34 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll, including a 27-9 mark in neutral site matches. This is the 10th straight season that Creighton has spent at least one week in the top-25, extending another program record.
Marquette remains just outside the top-25 in the AVCA poll, coming in fourth among those "also receiving votes". The Golden Eagles are 25-4 overall and own an RPI of 16.
Creighton returns to the floor on Friday at 3 p.m. when it takes on DePaul in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship, presented by JEEP. The event will take place in Milwaukee, Wis., with Friday's match broadcast on FloSports.
