Bluejays Battle Bulldogs Thursday, Golden Eagles on Sunday
Omaha, Neb. --Â The Creighton women's soccer team hosts Butler and Marquette over the weekend, facing the Bulldogs on Thursday (1:00 pm) and the Golden Eagles on Sunday (12:00 pm).

Creighton faces a tough pair of home matches this week, hosting Butler and Marquette.
The Bluejays have an opportunity to jump significantly in the standing with a pair of results. Creighton history against Butler is 1-9-1, with the lone victory coming in 1993. Since joining the BIG EAST, Creighton is 0-6-1 against the Bulldogs.
Last season Creighton pushed Butler to overtime in a battle in Morrison Stadium on Oct. 10, 2019 before falling 1-0.
The Bluejays have had much more luck against the Golden Eagles with a 3-5-3 series history. Creighton is 1-4-2 against Marquette since the two became conference foes.
Over the last four years the two teams have gone 1-1-2, including draws in the last two seasons.
Scouting Butler (6-0-0, 3-0-0 BE)
The Bulldogs have been impressive thus far, posting a goal differential of 29-4 in six matches. Butler has claimed its three BIG EAST contests by a combined score 8-1, allowing a goal to DePaul in the first match.
Goalkeeper Stephanie Rodriguez has started each match, recording three shutouts.
Offensively Butler is led by Anja Savich with seven goals and 15 points (7 G, 1 A). Three other Bulldogs, however, have at least 10 points with four goals each by Katie Soderstrom, Gretchen Skoglund and Alli Leonard. Soderstrom has four assists, while Skoglund and Leonard each have a pair of assists.
Scouting Marquette
The Golden Eagles enter the week at 3-1-0 on the season and 1-1-0 in BIG EAST play. Before coming to Omaha, Marquette will face Xavier at home on Thursday.
Entering the week the Golden Eagles hold a 10-3 goal differential in four matches. The only setback of the season came against Butler, 1-0, on March 11 in Indianapolis.
Marquette's offense has been spread around the pitch, with seven different players contributing. The leader is Elsi Twombly with three goals, while Kylie Sprecher has two goals and an assist.
In the net the Golden Eagles have split time between Mikki Easter (two matches) and Lauren Schill (three matches). Combined the Golden Eagle goalkeepers have posted a 0.75 goals against average.
Marquette Has Some Familiarity on the Bench in Former Bluejay Erin Scott
Marquette goalkeeper coach Erin Scott has more than just a little familiarity with Morrison Stadium. Scott began her playing career at Creighton in 2015 and 2016.
Scott was Creighton's starting keeper in 2015, starting all 20 matches. She stopped 108 shots as a rookie for Creighton, second-most in a single season in program
history. The following season she appeared in five matches.
Scott left Creighton following the 2016 season with a 12-12-1 combined record in 2,196 minutes (2,195:45). Erin went on to Campbell University, where she also began her coaching career.
