Women's Soccer Falls to Butler, 4-0

Omaha, Neb. -- After battling Butler through a scoreless opening half, the Creighton women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision on Thursday, March 18.
The loss moved Creighton to 0-4-0 on the season and 0-3-0 in BIG EAST play, while Butler moved to 7-0-0 overall and 4-0-0 in conference action.
A competitive opening 45 minutes saw the Bluejays maintain the edge in time of possession as well as shots 8-4. Depsite the attacking edge, Creighton and Butler were locked in a scoreless contest at the half.
Butler took the lead early in the second half (46:27) via a crossing strike from Aliya Diagne from approximately 30 yards away, kicking right to left she found the lower right corner for an unassisted goal.
The Bulldogs struck again in the 55th and 60th minutes as Alli Leonarda and Morgon Kloosterman found the back of the net. Kloosterman's goal came after Abigail Isger was denied at close range by Creighton keeper Keelan Terrell. The ball rebounded directly to Klooserman for the unguarded goal.
Butler's final tally came in the 77th minute. This time Payton Black delivered an unassisted goal.
The Bluejays out shot Butler 14-9 in the match. Creighton also held a 4-1 edge in corners.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Sunday, March 21 as the Bluejays host Marquette at 12:00 pm.
