
Musa Qongo Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

The senior recorded an assist and helped limit Xavier to just two shots on goal
Qongo helped the Creighton defense limit Xavier to just two shots on goal and recorded an assist on the Bluejays' first goal during Saturday's 2-1 victory.
The senior made his first appearance of the season on Saturday after missing the first two matches because of an injury.
Creighton returns to the pitch for a neutral site nonconference match against Missouri State on Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri at the Swope Soccer Village. Kickoff between the Bluejays and Bears is scheduled for 2 p.m.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Wilmer Cabrera, Jr., Butler, So., FÂ (Bogota, Columbia)
Butler sophomore forward Wilmer Cabrera Jr., led the charge in a 5-0 victory over DePaul last week for the Bulldogs. He had a foot in all but one goal in the match, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist in the league-opener. It's the first three-goal game for a Bulldog since Lewis Suddick netted a trio against IUPUI on Aug. 30, 2016. Cabrera, Jr. fired a game-high five shots, converting on three of them.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Rimi Olatunji, Providence, Jr., GK (Brampton, Ontario)
Providence junior keeper Rimi Olatunji repeats as BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after two shutouts last week in net. Olatunji made six saves in the double overtime victory against Villanova on Wednesday; then followed up that performance with two saves in a scoreless draw against then-No. 5 Georgetown. Olatunji has not allowed a goal in three straight games.
Freshman of the Week
Gevork Diarbian, Providence, Fr., M (Cranston, R.I.)
Providence rookie midfielder Gevork Diarbian helped the No. 14 Friars go 1-0-1 last week. He scored the golden goal in the 106th minute for an overtime victory, 1-0, against Villanova on Wednesday.
