Kardovic Earns All-BIG EAST Team Selection
Georgetown was the unanimous choice to claim the title, while Butler, Connecticut and Providence slid in ahead of Creighton. Picked sixth was St. John's, followed by Xavier, Marquette, DePaul, Villanova and Seton Hall.
Fifth is the highest the Bluejays have been picked since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013 season.
Creighton welcomes back 10 of its 11 starters from 2020, led by sophomore Aida Kardovic and junior Ansley Atkinson. Kardovic led the Bluejays with nine points (four goals and one assist) in eight matches during 2020, earning All-BIG EAST First Team. Atkinson, meanwhile, delivered seven points (three goals and one assist) to earn All-BIG EAST Second Team. Both Atkinson and Kardovic collected more hardware as they were selected to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.
Kardovic repeated her honor with a spot on the 2021 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.
The Bluejays open the 2021 season on Thursday, August 19 at home against Montana at 7:00 pm.
