Brown and Ross Earn Doubles Crown During First Day of Drake Invitational

The senior duo combined to go 3-0 on Friday
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Creighton men's tennis seniors Stratton Brown and Casey Ross claimed the Round Robin D Doubles Championship with three victories on Friday during the opening day of the Drake Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa.
Friday's action marked the beginning of the Bluejays' fall schedule.
The senior duo won matches by scores of 8-4, 8-2, 8-3 to finish the day unblemished during round robin play.
Matthew Lanahan and Jose Oscar Diaz went 1-2 in Round Robin B, while Zack Maline and Shin Inoue combined to go 2-1 in the Round Robin F draw.
"Great job by Casey and Stratty for taking all three of their doubles matches," head coach Tom Lilly said. "We have some work to do in doubles and will continue to get better, but we had flashes of really good play at all three spots. Tomorrow will be a long day of singles play, and I am excited to see how we go about competing throughout the lineup."
Singles play on Saturday at Drake will start at 9 a.m.
