Volleyball Holds Steady at No. 16 in AVCA Poll

Creighton among national leaders with 14 wins
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball held steady in the No. 16 spot in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll.
The Bluejays, who made their first appearance in the Fall 2021 poll on Sept. 6 at No. 19 and were No. 16 a week ago, made their move after opening BIG EAST play with road wins at Butler (3-1) and Xavier (3-0) last weekend. Creighton's 14-1 start is the program's best mark ever after 15 matches, and its 14 wins are more than any other team in this week's Top 25.
The Bluejays have now been ranked in 81 all-time polls. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017. Creighton is 128-32 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll. This is the 10th straight season that Creighton has spent at least one week in the top-25, extending another program record.
Creighton's BIG EAST rival, Marquette, is still receiving votes after also winning a pair of BIG EAST road matches times last weekend to improve to 11-2 overall.
Creighton continues BIG EAST play on Friday at 6 p.m. Central when it visits St. John's.
