Creighton Softball Announces 2022 Schedule

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Softball head coach Brent Vigness officially unveiled the Bluejays' 2022 schedule on Monday, Jan. 17, featuring 14 home games.Â
The Bluejays open the season with four consecutive tournament, beginning at UTEP (Feb. 11-13). In El Paso Creighton will start of the 2022 campaign against Idaho State (2:00 pm) on Feb. 11 and UTEP at 8:00 pm. The second day of competition places Abilene Christian (2:00 pm) and UTEP (5:00 pm) on tap for Feb. 12. The UTEP Tournament concludes on Feb. 13 against Abilene Christian at 11:00 am.
Creighton returns to Texas (Beaumont) from Feb. 18-20 for the Lamar Tournament. The Bluejays battle Ohio (10:00 am) and Lamar (3:00 pm) on Feb. 18, then battle Ohio (4:00 pm) and New Mexico (6:30 pm) on Saturday. A second contest with Lamar comes at 11:30 am on Sunday, Feb. 20.
The third tournament of the season is another trip to Texas, then time taking the Bluejays to Denton. Creighton faces South Dakota State (12:30 pm) and North Texas (5:30 pm) on Feb. 25, then repeats the schedule on Feb. 26. The final day in Denton puts Yale in Creighton's sights for a game at 10:00 am.
March begins with Creighton's fourth and final tournament in Evansville, Indiana. The Bluejays take on Bowling Green (2:00 pm) and Green Bay (7:00 pm) on March 4. On Saturday, March 5 Creighton faces Oakland (2:00 pm) and Green Bay (7:00), then battle host Evansville on Sunday, March 6 at 11:30 am.
The BIG EAST season and the home season begins on March 11 with a three-game series against Georgetown (March 11-13). The following weekend takes the Bluejays to Seton Hall in South Orange, New Jersey (March 18-20).
A mid-week home game against South Dakota breaks up the BIG EAST marathon on March 22, then Creighton hosts Providence on March 25-27. Creighton's annual mid-season clash with Nebraska is scheduled in Lincoln on March 29.
The month of April takes Creighton to St. John's (April 1-3), then to Connecticut (April 8-10), before returning to Omaha to face Villanova (April 14-16).Â
The final stretch of the season begins on Tuesday, April 19 at home against Omaha (5:00 pm), before the last four road games of the year at Butler (April 22-24) and South Dakota (April 26).
The regular season comes to a close in a three-game battle with DePaul from April 29-May 1.
Following a week off, Creighton has the chance to take part in the BIG EAST Softball Championships in Rosemont, Illinois from May 12-14.
