Scouting Butler (1-12, 0-4 BIG EAST)
The Bulldogs have struggled this season to a 1-12 record, including a 0-4 mark in BIG EAST action.
Wednesday's contest will be just the second game in January for Butler as a pair of Covid pauses have
interrupted the Bulldogs season.
Celena Taborn is the lone Bulldog averaging double figures with a team-high 14.3 ppg.

Scouting Creighton (12-4, 7-1 BE)
The Bluejays have gotten off to a hot start this season in part by Creighton's ability win in different ways.
Against Seton Hall the Bluejays hammered the ball inside to the tune of 48 points in the paint. Yet in the 86-80 win over St. John's on Sunday the Bluejays dialed up 11 from beyond the arc. .
Sophomore Emma Ronsiek was special in both victories, scoring a combined 57 points. She delivered a career-high 30 against the Red Storm. Ronsiek enters the battle with Butler averaging 14.3 ppg, while fellow sophomores Morgan Maly (11.6 ppg) and Lauren Jensen (11.1 ppg) are also
averaging double digits.

Ronsiek Claims BIG EAST Player of the Week
Emma Ronsiek led Creighton to a 3-1 record over the last two weeks, capping the busy stretch with a pair of career-highlighting performances to earn the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday, Jan. 17. The award was carried over for two weeks as just three games were played during the week of Jan. 3-9.
The sophomore forward was one point shy of her career best when she tallied 27 points off 12-of-16 shooting in Friday's 83-60win over Seton Hall, before erupting for a career-best 30 points off 10-of-17 shooting in Sunday's 86-80 win over St. John's. Against the Red Storm, Ronsiek was 5-of-8 from three and added two blocks. She snagged six boards in each game this weekend and averaged 5.5 over the four-game stretch. Ronsiek added 10 points in last Sunday's setback at then-No. 11 UConn, in what was the Huskies' narrowest margin of victory in the BIG EAST since rejoining the league last season. During the four-game stretch Ronsiek averaged 17.7 ppg and posted a 28.5 ppg combined against Seton Hall and St. John's.
The last time a Bluejay claimed the BIG EAST's top weekly honor was during the 2019-20 season. Jaylyn Agnew did so six times, the final coming on March 2, 2020, while Tatum Rembao claimed the honor once that year.
Rembao's Dishes Out Assists at Historic Level
Part of the reason Emma Ronsiek looked so good against Seton Hall (Jan. 14) and St. John's (Jan. 16) was the passing of senior Tatum Rembao. The Colorado native racked up 11and 12 assists respectively, becoming the first Bluejay in over 25 years to post consecutive games of 10 or more assists (Electronic game-by-game records date back to the 1998-99 season).
Bluejays' 28 Helpers, Equals Top Total Since 1997-98
As a team Creighton recorded 28 assists in the 83-60 win over Seton Hall on Jan. 14. That mark equals the most assist in a single-game since at least the 1997-98 season. The Bluejays also recorded 28 assists in a 95-78 win over Georgetown on March 1, 2020.
The Bluejay record for assists in a single game is 37 against Wichita State on Jan. 21, 1991 during a 101-71 win.

Keys To the Game on Wednesday, Jan. 19
- Rebounding: Butler's lone win came in a contest that the Bulldogs grabbed 45 rebounds. Limiting Butler to one scoring opportunity is critical.
- Extending the Bench: With three games this week, it is important to get an early lead. This will allow head coach Jim Flanery to use his bench.
- Ball Security: Creighton has historically struggled in Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bluejays would like to build upon the strong showing Creighton gave last year in an 88-41 win on Dec. 6, 2020.
