Women’s Tennis Continues Bulldog Classic With Seven Victories On Saturday

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Creighton women's tennis team completed day two of the Bulldog Classic Hidden Duals with seven victories on Saturday inside the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
Valerie Negin and Malvika Shukla each remained unbeaten on the weekend with a doubles and singles win. Shukla and Leanne Kendall paired up to capture an 8-4 win over Milwaukee's Iva Stejskalova and Alice Shields to open the day.
Freshman Ana Paula Martinez and Negin would secure an 8-7 victory over the Panther's Nadiia Konieva and Giorgia Covestro at the No. 2 doubles slot, while Milwaukee's Babette Burgersdijk and Sara Simonova claimed an 8-6 win at the No. 3 spot.
In singles play, Creighton captured five wins to claim the dual victory over Omaha.
Shukla secured a 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Omaha's Jessica Aragon at the top slot, while Negin rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Lillian Tiemeyer at the No. 2 spot.
Kendall made quick work of Omaha's Ines Absisan with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph at the No. 4 spot, while Annika Elvestrom picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Keegan VanPelt at the No. 5 slot.
Sophomore Allison Wilcox wrapped up the day with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Omaha's Addison Miller at the No. 2 spot.
The Bluejays conclude play at the Bulldog Classic on Sunday with a doubles match against Drake and a singles match against Milwaukee.
