Scouting DePaul (10-4, 3-0 BIG EAST)
After stumbling a bit early in the season, the Blue Demons have won six of seven. DePaul is tied for the conference lead with a 3-0 mark, posting victories over Butler, Georgetown and Providence.
Sophomore Aneesah Morrow is the driving for the Blue Demons, averaging 25.8 points and 12 rebounds per game this season. In Omaha last season she delivered 41 points and 18 rebounds to help DePaul claim the meeting on Feb. 27, 90-84.
DePaul is more than a one woman show, however. Darrione Rogers is averaging 19.9 points per game and has a team best 80 assists.
The Blue Demons remain a team that likes to push pace on offensive and create turnovers on defense. This season DePaul has forced 242 turnovers in 14 games, better than 17 per game.
Scouting #21 Creighton (8-4, 2-2 BIG EAST)
After opening the season with seven straight wins, including three over ranked foes, Creighton has hit a rough patch recently. The Bluejays have dropped four of five games, falling to undefeated St. John's, #21 Arkansas, #2 Stanford and #8 Connecticut. Creighton has shot just 34.6 percent during its last five games (107-of-309) and has been outrebounded 218-163.
Keys To the Game on Saturday, December 31
Ball Security: Creighton took care of the basketball very well in the losses to #2 Stanford and #8 Connecticut with just 11 combined turnovers in the two games. That must continue against DePaul.
Early Production: After slow starts against the Cardinal and Huskies, it would do Creighton's confidence wonders to shoot well in the first quarter.
Rebounding: Over the past two games the Bluejays have been outrebounded 50-25 and 59-27.
Players to Watch for Creighton
Morgan Maly and Emma Ronsiek: Ronsiek and Maly will have the primary defensive assignments on Morrow. Slowing down Morrow's offense is important, but it may matter more than Maly and Ronsiek get going on the offensive end to make Morrow work on defense.

The Wins Have Come in Unique Ways
Each of the Bluejays' four victories against DePaul over the past four seasons has brought something unexpected.
In Creighton's 85-82 win on Dec. 29, 2018 the Bluejays got a career-high 20 points from Brooke Kissinger. She finished 7-of-8 from the field, including 6-of-7 from long range in the win. In two seasons at Creighton, Kissinger did not top seven points in any other game during 2018-19.
Playing without the 2019 BIG EAST Player of the Year, Jaylyn Agnew, Creighton rallied from a 40-21 halftime deficit to earn a 63-61 win. Olivia Elger finished with a career-high 28 points, including 16 in the second half.
The victory during the 2021-22 season saw the Bluejays play without starting point guard Tatum Rembao or backup Molly Mogensen due to injury and illness. Despite committing 22 turnovers, the Bluejays found a way to shoot 58% (29-50) to pull out the win.
Last season Creighton outscored DePaul 30-0 off the bench as the Blue Demons used just seven players.
