Casey Ross and Matthew Lanahan Honored As BIG EAST Men’s Double Team of the Week

It is the first BIG EAST honor for both Ross and Lanahan this season
OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton men's tennis senior Casey Ross and sophomore Matthew Lanahan earned BIG EAST Men's Tennis Double's Team of the Week honor, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
It marks the first BIG EAST Weekly honor for both Ross and Lanahan this season and the first BIG EAST weekly honor since Nick Campbell was named the Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Jan. 21, 2022.
Ross and Lanahan teamed up at the top doubles slot last week posting a perfect 2-0 mark to help the Bluejays to wins over UIC (6-1) and Chicago State (5-2). The duo has won three straight doubles matches and have been victorious in six of their eight matches this season at the top spot.
The pair gave the Jays an early advantage with a quick 6-1 win over UIC's Pelle Strandberg and Theo Duclos in Creighton's 6-1 win over the Flames on Friday. Ross and Lanahan then clinched the doubles point for the Jays with a 7-5 victory over Chicago State's Jesus Sanchez Pradillo and Pedro Alvarez on Saturday afternoon.
Creighton returns to the courts on Monday, March 7 when they open BIG EAST Conference play against Xavier in Orlando, Florida.
