Scouting DePaul (21-9, 13-6 BIG EAST)
DePaul enters Sunday's game in Omaha in a tough spot. The Blue Demons have lost three of five, including their last two games.
On Friday DePaul fell to Seton Hall at home, 94-90, while dropping a 73-64 battle with Villanova last Sunday.
Five Blue Demons average double digits per game, led by National Freshman of the Year Candidate Aneesah Marrow at 20.8 ppg. Veteran leader Sonya Morris brings 18.2 ppg, while Deja Church (14.4 ppg), Lexi Held (12.8 ppg) and Darrione Rogers (10.3) round out the quintet.
The first meeting between Creighton and DePaul saw Marrow notch another double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Playing without Dee Bekelja, six Blue Demons accounted for all but five minutes of game time.
The Blue Demons thrive on forcing live ball turnovers, moving the basketball and the three. DePaul is the nation's leader with 571 assists, has knocked down 262 treys and forces 19.1 turnovers per game.
Scouting Creighton (20-7, 15-4 BE)
Road wins at St. John's and Seton Hall last weekend gave a glimpse of Creighton's diversity on offense and resolve. Seven Creighton players scored in double figures against the Red Storm and the Bluejays outlasted Seton Hall in a double overtime affair in South Orange
Creighton's ability to attack what their opposition offers is one of the greatest strengths of the program. The Bluejays have the ability to shoot from outside, but Creighton's leading scorer (Emma Ronsiek) can pound the ball down low.
A trio of sophomore lead Creighton's offense, getting 14.8 ppg from Emma Ronsiek. Lauren Jensen (12.4 ppg) and Morgan Maly (12.1) are just behind.
Â
Like DePaul the Bluejays shoot the three at an impressive clip (281 in 27 games) and share the basketball (562 assists) at an elite level.
Defensively the Bluejays have been better than in recent years, forcing 395 turnovers (14.6 per game).
Keys To the Game on Sunday, Feb. 27
Players to Watch for Creighton - Lauren Jensen and Molly Mogensen: Ronsiek has been strong against DePaul, but the Bluejays will need scoring thump from multiple sources. Jensen and Mogensen can both provide the scoring and will be asked to take on more ball handling responsibilities.

Keys To the Game on Sunday, Feb. 27
- Ball Security: Battles between DePaul and Creighton often come down to how well the Bluejays take care of the basketball. Although the Bluejays are more diverse than in years past, it is imperative to prevent the Blue Demons from getting easy buckets in transition.
- Making Morrow Work on the Defensive End: The Bluejays' hybrid post players must make Morrow defend outside the paint to take some of her explosiveness away on the offensive end.
- Fatigue: Creighton has the advantage of playing just one game and being at home, while DePaul played a night game in Chicago on Friday. The Bluejays are also the deeper team, with DePaul typically using a shorter bench than Creighton.
