Women's Golf Places Eighth at Diane Daugherty Invite

Eleanor Hudepohl leads CU with tie for 23rd place
ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Freshman Eleanor Hudepohl tied for 23rd place to lead the Creighton women's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Diane Daugherty Invite on Tuesday in St. Charles, Mo.
The Bluejays shot rounds of 317 and 322 on Monday before closing with a 329 in breezy conditions on Tuesday for a 968 total.
Hudepohl opened with a 76, CU's best round of the tournament, before following up with an 84. She closed with a 79 to tie for 23rd place, taking over the team lead with a 76.88 scoring average through 24 rounds this season.
Sophomore Gabby Tremblay fired an 84 in the initial round before improving with loops of 80 and 78 to tie for 32nd place.
Sophomore Katie Berrian shot an 82, then fired CU's best second round with a 77. She wrapped up play with an 85 to tie for 42nd place with a 244 total.
Katherine Lemke compiled rounds of 79, 82 and 88 for a 249 aggregate. That earned the freshman from Geneva, Ill., a tie for 58th place.
Junior Katie Allen tied for 63rd place after scores of 80, 83 and 87. The Phoenix product tied for fifth in the field in par 3 scoring (+2).
The tournament was contested at Bogey Hills Country Club, which measured 5,987 yards on the par 71 layout. Sixteen teams and 96 players competed in the event.
Missouri State won the team title with a 904 total (300-297-307) to edge runner-up South Dakota (304-306-301) by seven shots. Austin Peay's Taylor Dedmen won medalist honors with a 220 total (74-73-73), one shot better than South Dakota's Laerke Jensen (73-75-73).
Creighton returns to the course on April 11-12 with the Stampede at the Creek in Elkhorn, Neb.
