OMAHA, Neb. – Playing in front of the third largest home crowd for a Creighton women's soccer match in Morrison Stadium history (1,834), the Bluejays delivered a pair of second-half goals, including one in the 83rd minute to earn a 2-2 draw against Nebraska in the season-opener on Thursday, Aug. 17.

Nebraska (0-0-1) blitzed out to an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute as Eleanor Dale fired a shot into the back of the net for the first goal of the match. Florence Belzile was credited with an assist after recovering a blocked by Abbey Schwarz and sliding a pass through the penalty box to the awaiting Dale.
In the opening frame, the Huskers held a 9-4 advantage in shots, while the Bluejays led 4-0 in corner kicks.
Coming out of the break, Creighton quickly leveled the match in the 48th minute with a goal by senior Maddie Radke. A chip pass over the heads of the Huskers back line found the right foot of Radke, who slotted a shot pass the goalkeeper for the Bluejays first goal of the season.
Nebraska, however, wasted no time regaining the lead as junior Sarah Weber found the back of the net in the 58th minute off an assist from Jordan Zade.
Down to the final 10 minutes, Creighton had one final push left in them. In the 83rd minute senior Hannah Luke once again tied the match by slicing a shot pass the diving Husker goalkeeper for her first goal of the season. Fellow senior Lara Kazandjian set the play in motion from the top of the box by sliding a pass to the near post for the equalizer.
Nebraska would stay aggressive throughout the remained of the match, but were unable to break the Bluejays defense as Creighton held on for the 2-2 draw.
The Huskers closed the match with a 22-9 edge in shots, while Creighton held a slim 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Fifth-year goalkeeper Keelan Terrell recorded the draw making four saves.
