Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton women's basketball senior Morgan Maly (Crete, Neb.) earned her second MVP Honor in the last 12 months, guiding her Team USA (U21) 3x3 team to a 6-0 record and a championship victory in the Nations League Finals in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on September 13-15.
Maly scored a team high 39 points over the six contests, delivering the championship winning bucket and leading the four-person squad in scoring in three contests to claim the MVP of the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Nations League Final.
Facing the top seed in the event China in the Finals, the score was knotted at 18-18 in the closing moments of the contest. Following a turnover by China, Villanova's Lucy Olsen drove to the basket with under 10 seconds remaining. Olsen's shot came off the rim as Maly grabbed the rebound and put the ball back up and in, giving USA U21 the 19-18 win at the buzzer.
This marked the second time Maly collected a 3x3 Championship as well as the MVP honor. In early May, the Bluejay 3x3 team won the National Championship with Maly earning the MVP in Colorado Springs, Colo.
