Men’s Tennis Begins Fall Season With Three Wins at Kearney Invite

KEARNEY, Neb. – The Creighton men's tennis team opened the 2024 fall season with three victories during the first day of Kearney Invite on Friday at the Ernest Grundy Tennis Center in Kearney, Neb.
Senior Ethan Neil and freshman Max Stollecker got the Bluejays rolling in doubles play, earning a 6-4 victory over Nebraska-Kearney's Jip Mens and Alex Jaulin.
After falling in doubles play earlier in the evening, senior Alejandro Gandini bounced back nicely, claiming a commanding 6-1, 6-2 straight-sets victory over UNK's Adrian Constantin to open singles play.
Junior Kirtan Patel followed with a 6-4, 6-4 straight-sets win of his own over UNK's Tom Van den Dungen to close out the first day of competition for the Bluejays.
Creighton continues play at the Kearney Invite on Saturday at 9 a.m. with two more rounds of doubles and singles.
