
Women’s Tennis Earns 17th Consecutive ITA All-Academic Team Award, Seven Individuals Honored As Scholar-Athletes

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Creighton women's tennis teams claimed a 2024 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award for the 17th consecutive year while seven individuals earned scholar-athlete awards, the ITA announced on Monday afternoon.
The Bluejay women accumulated a 3.79 GPA during the spring and a 3.72 GPA last fall. This marks the 17th straight year that Creighton has attained ITA All-Academic Team recognition on the women's side. In addition to its ITA award, the women's tennis program claimed its 12th consecutive APR Public Recognition Award in May.
Recent graduate Malvika Shukla earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status for the fourth consecutive year, while Valerie Negin, Bianca Rademacher and Allison Wilcox each claimed the honor for the third time in their career. Rising senior Siri Kongara and juniors Annika Elvestrom and Ana Paula Martinez also earned their second consecutive ITA Scholar-Athlete Award following solid performances in the classroom this past year.
A total of 1,573 Division I Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 255 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
All-Academic teams boast a team GPA of 3.20 or higher. ITA scholar-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 2.) be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
