Bluejay Women’s Soccer Kicks Off 2024 Season with First Official Training Session

OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton women's soccer team, under first-year head coach Jimmy Walker, kicked off the 2024 fall season with its first official training session on Tuesday morning at Morrison Stadium.
Bringing back a majority of their offensive firepower, led by second team All-BIG EAST honoree, Azumi Manriki, and two-time co-captain Abigail Santana, the Bluejays enter a new era of Creighton women's soccer with renewed aspirations of a return trip to the postseason.
Creighton starts its competition schedule on Saturday afternoon in Vermillion, S.D. for an exhibition match against South Dakota. The Bluejays will then host South Dakota State at Morrison Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 7 (6 p.m.) before wrapping up preseason friendlies with a match at home against Omaha on Sunday, Aug. 11 (6 p.m.).
The Bluejays' regular season begins with a pair of road matches against Power 5 opponents as the Bluejays kickoff the season with matchups at Minnesota on Thursday, Aug. 15 (7 p.m.) and at Iowa State on Sunday, Aug. 18 (6 p.m.).
The Bluejays will return to the friendly confines of Morrison Stadium for their home opener against Western Michigan on Thursday, Aug. 29 (4 p.m.), before battling two-time defending Atlantic 10 champion Saint Louis in the Bluejays annual Socctoberfest match on Friday, Sept. 6 (5 p.m.).
