OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton men's tennis head coach Gerhard Posch announced the signing of Rocky McKenzie (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Max Stollecker (Kranj, Slovenia) for the 2024-25 season.
McKenzie, ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of South Dakota and the No. 2 player in the Great Plains region by TennisRecruiting.net, was a five-time singles and doubles state champion at Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, S.D. A four-star recruit, McKenzie guided the Patriots to five consecutive Class AA state championships, while owning a 11.03 Universal Tennis Rating.
McKenzie was a five-time First Team All-State and all-conference selection, while recording a perfect 117-0 record, shattering the school record for most victories in a career. In addition, he also established a new South Dakota Class AA state record for the least number of losses in a career by a single player with zero.
Off the court, McKenzie excelled in the classroom graduating summa cum laude and with AP scholar distinctions, while serving on the student council, National Honor Society, the Science and Math National Honor Society and in the Latin club.
Stollecker, a Kranj, Slovenia native, has spent the last three seasons playing club tennis for the Triglav Kranj, where he guided his squad to three consecutive National League team championships.
Individually, Stollecker captured doubles national championships at the U-16 and U-18 levels with Triglav Kranj, ranking as high as second in the league in the spring of 2024. Stollecker holds a 917 ranking through the International Tennis Federation (ITF), while owning a Universal Tennis Ranking of 11.7.
Creighton will open the fall portion of their schedule in early October at the Kearney Invite as they gearing up for the ITA Regionals on Oct. 16-20 in Tulsa, Okla.
