Baseball Announces Recruiting Class, Signing 10 Newcomers

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Baseball head coach Mark Kingston announced his first signing class at the Bluejay helm on Friday, November 14. The Bluejays will add a class of 10 players for the 2027 season. Joining Creighton will be Brady Andrews, Riley Asmus, Brady Blake, Braden Caito, Sully Conlin, Carson Hart, Casey Kowalczyk, Brody Landgraf, Ryan Murphy and Owen Strey.
"This is a talented and diverse group. We anticipate immediate impact from many of these student athletes," said Kingston. "They are driven and goal oriented, we are proud to welcome them to our program. Our goal is to find players that have a passion for success on and off the field, and this group exemplifies that."

The 10th ranked player in Iowa and 490th nationally by Prep Baseball Report, Andrews is a right—handed pitcher from Des Moines Christian HS. He posted a 1.57 ERA with 94 strikeouts and .127 opponent batting average over 53 innings as a sophomore
A two-way player from Morris, Minnesota, Asmus attends Morris Area HS. Last season he hit .494 with 42 RBI, while going 7-0 with one save and a 1.60 ERA on the mound. Prep Baseball Report's National High School Player of the Week for May 5-11, Asmus is the 13th ranked player in Minnesota (Prep Baseball Report). He is one of eight juniors named to the Minnesota Star Tribune's Top-25 HS Players and AA All-State by MSHSBCA last season.
A transfer from Kirkwood CC, Blake is from Indianola, Iowa. His collegiate career began with two years a Kansas, including a redshirt season. The infielder graduated from Indianola HS, where he was a two-time First Team All-State selection. Rated as the 7th best player in Iowa as a senior by Prep Baseball Report, Blake appeared in three contests for the Jayhawks last season.
The 7th rated player in Nebraska by Prep Baseball Report, Caito is a homegrown talent that attends Creighton Prep. A two-way player he was also ranked as the 6th Nebraska prospect by Perfect Game. He closed last season with a 2.55 ERA, a 4-1 record and 30 strikeouts in 22 innings. At the plate he hit .333 with eight extra base hits and 20 RBI.
A right-handed pitcher from Stillwater, Minnesota, Conlin competes for Stillwater High School. Last season, he logged 27 innings, posting a 3.63 ERA with 42 strikeouts. He enters his senior year highly regarded, ranked fifth in Minnesota by Perfect Game and 12th by Prep Baseball Report.
Hart, an outfielder from Mankato, Minnesota, stars for Mankato East High School. Ranked the seventh-best player in Minnesota and No. 497 nationally by Prep Baseball Report, he has established himself as one of the state's top all-around talents. In 2025, he was named AAA All-State by the MSHSBCA and was one of just eight juniors selected to the Minnesota Star Tribune's Top 25 High School Players list. He delivered an impressive junior season at the plate, hitting .359 with a .586 on-base percentage, 24 walks, and 23 stolen bases.

Kowalczyk, a right-handed pitcher from Viroqua, Wisconsin, comes to Creighton from Iowa Western Community College. He made an immediate impact as a freshman, going 2–0 with two saves and a 3.24 ERA over 25 innings. He missed the 2025 season due to injury but is expected to return to form as he continues his development on the mound.
Coming to Omaha from Columbus, Illinois, Landgraf is the 15th ranked player in Illinois and the 298th nationally by Prep Baseball Report. The dual sport athlete also averaged 14.6 ppg on the basketball court for Columbia HS.
A left-handed pitcher from Brownsburg, Indiana, Murphy went 4-1 with a 2.70 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 33 innings last season for Brownsburg HS. He is the 18th ranked player in Indiana and 459th nationally by Prep Baseball Report.
An infielder from Chaska, Minnesota, Strey was another one of eight juniors named to the Minnesota Star Tribune's Top-25 HS Players last season. Hitting .432 with six home runs and 15 stolen bases as a junior, he was named AAA All-State by MSHSBCA. He was also the 8th ranked player in Minnesota by Prep Baseball Report.Â
