Bluejay Baseball Begins Four-Game Week Against South Dakota State, then Host Saint Mary's

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Baseball Opens a four-game homestand on Tuesday, March 18 with a single game against South Dakota State, then will face Saint Mary's in a three-game set this weekend.

This week (March 9-16) he was brilliant with a combined 8.0 scoreless frames against UC Davis, Kansas State and San Francisco. Curtin earned the win over USF allowing two hits and one walk in 3.2 innings in Creighton's 5-2 win.
Cancelleri's Return Provides Much Needed Boost
Already having watched Eli Nissen, Shea Wendt and Jack Pineau sidelined this season, Creighton's starting staff received good news with the return of Dominic Cancellieri on Sunday, March 9 against UC Davis. He delivered two scoreless frames against the Aggies, then repeated the feat with two scoreless innings at San Francisco on March 15.
Kansas State Seems to Bring Out the Ejections
In the Bluejays' 9-8 win over Kansas State on March 11, Assistant Coach Mike Current became the first Bluejay Assistant to be ejected since Connor Gandossy was tossed against Kansas State on April 16, 2019. Wildcat first baseman Dardar became the first opposing player ejected since Bradley's Andy Johnson was sent to the showers on April 5, 2013.
Consecutive Midweek Wins
Going 12-0 last season in midweek contests, Creighton extended its success in midweek games to 14 consecutive wins by defeating Kansas State (9-8) on Tuesday.
