Men's Tennis Drops Match at Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. -- The Creighton men's tennis team dropped a 0-4 decision to Wichita State on Friday afternoon at the Gensis Rock Road Tennis Courts in Wichita, Kan.
The Bluejays fell to 12-8 on the year with the loss, while the Shockers improved to 9-9 overall.
Wichita State jumped out to an early lead, capturing the doubles points with identical 6-3 victories on the top two doubles courts. WSU's Kristof Minarik and Ilias Worthington earn a 6-3 win at the No. 2 doubles spot, before Alejandro Jacome and Arenui Luethi clinched the first point of the match with a 6-3 triumph at the top doubles position. Junior's Zachary Kuo and Kirtan Patel were trailing 5-4 on the No.3 doubles court before before their match went unfinished.
The shockers continued their winning ways, securing wins at the No. 3, No.4, and No. 5 singles positions, to clinch the 4-0 victory.
Worthington picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Kuo on the No. 4 singles court, while Vanja Hodzic captured a 6-0, 6-4 straight sets win at the No. 3 singles spot, before Luke Bracks clinched the dual with a 6-3, 6-3 straight sets win over Ethan Neil at the No. 5 singles position.
Creighton's Yumas Daijima and Max Stollecker each split a pair of sets at the No. 2 and No. 6 singles positions before their matches went unfinished.
The Bluejays will continue play on Saturday, April 5 as they take on Oral Roberts at 12 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla.
