OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton women's tennis senior Bianca Rademacher has been named to the All-BIG EAST First Team, the league announced on Thursday afternoon.
A native of Lincoln, Neb., Rademacher posted a 12-2 singles record, including 10 such wins coming via straight sets, while battling through injuries at the top singles position. In limited league action, Rademacher went 2-1 against BIG EAST competition, including a thrilling 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 three-set win over Seton Hall's Anastasia Sereda in the BIG EAST Tournament.
Combined with the six additional singles wins earned in the fall, Rademacher collected 18 total singles wins at the No. 1 singles spot this season, ranking tied for seventh-most in a single season in program history.
Rademacher also combined for a 12-3 doubles record, teaming up with fellow senior Valerie Negin for a team-high 10 victories at the top doubles position, while collecting a pair of wins at the No. 1 spot with freshman Olivia Minikel. Rademacher added six additional doubles wins in the fall, finishing the 2024-25 season with an 18-5 overall doubles record. Her 18 doubles wins at the No. 1 doubles position ranked second-most in a singles season in school history, trailing only the 20 combined wins, Katie Chiu and Tess Reddin recorded in 2006-07.
Overall, Rademacher went a combined 36-8 (.818) this season, recording the Bluejays highest winning percentage in a single season in program history.
"Bianca's talent has always been there but her injuries held her back somewhat her first few years here at Creighton," said head coach Tom Lilly. "She was healthier this season and jumped up a level, physically and mentally on the court and this led to one of the best seasons in Creighton history. Her competitiveness and athletic abilities are at the top with a few others that have worn Bluejay blue."
Connecticut's Olivia Wright was unanimously named BIG EAST Player of the Year, while Xavier's Maddie Rexroat nabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Year. Additionally, Connecticut's Glenn Marshall and Nansi Toskova were named as the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.
