Omaha, Neb. -- Riding a two-match win streak, Creighton Men's Soccer hosts Oral Roberts on Saturday, September 13 in the final home non-conference match of the season.

Scouting Oral Roberts (1-4-1)
Since starting the season with two home matches, Oral Roberts has not returned home since, posting a 1-3-0 record on the road. The contest with Creighton marks the Golden Eagles' fifth consecutive road match.Â
To begin their 2025 campaign, Oral Roberts reached a draw with 2-2 with Cal State Fullerton; from there, the Golden Eagles racked up an 0-3 record before ending the losing streak with a 2-1 score against UTRGV. Against the Vaqueros, goals from midfielders Leonardo De Almeida Seixas and Tweneboa Kodua propelled the Golden Eagles to their first victory of the season.
Emilio Cazares leads the Golden Eagles offensively this season, posting two goals and an assist. Oral Roberts has seen four other scorers find the back of the net.
Two different goalkeepers have appeared between the posts for the Golden Eagles this season: Joao Mesquita and Jakob Grzesiak. Grzesiak serves as Oral Roberts' primary goalkeeper, racking up a 1-2-1 record in goal. The junior has allowed seven goals and collected 17 saves. Over these three matches, Creighton has seen four different players score their first goals as a Bluejays: Matthew Reed against Denver, followed by Brian Edelman, Martin Herrera and Bautista Rossi all against Omaha.Â
Against the Mavericks, Edelman converted on a free kick with a header. Then, Herrera evaded three defenders and the goalkeeper for the score, before Rossi sealed the match with a goal from near midfield. Miguel Arilla remains the offensive leader of the group this season, recording three goals and an assist collectively.Â
Between the sticks for the Bluejays, Matthew Hudson has also fared well at home, limiting opponents in the last three matches to just two goals — both coming against Omaha. The redshirt freshman has made 11 saves since returning to Morrison Stadium.

After posting consecutive wins over Denver (2-0 on September 5) and Omaha (3-2 on September 10), Creighton will try for its third consecutive victory in a matchup against Oral Roberts on Saturday night. This is the first time in Creighton's history to play three consecutive non-conference games that have come from the same conference.
Creighton and Omaha Sit Atop NCAA in Yellow Cards
The city of Omaha holds the unique distinction of having both its Division I soccer programs sit atop the NCAA in the Yellow Card category. Creighton leads the nation in yellow cards with 19 after receiving three in their match with Omaha on September 10. The Mavericks are not far behind them after receiving four in the match with the Bluejays; they are currently tied for second in the nation with 17 yellow cards.Â
New Birds Beginning To Spread Their Wings
Entering the matchup against Oral Roberts, Creighton's last three goals have come from players in their first active season as a Bluejay. Redshirt freshman Brian Edelman, transfers Bautista Rossi, and Martin Herrera added their names to the record books against Omaha on Wednesday night.Â

Creighton's crosstown contest with Omaha saw two highlight reel goals from Martin Herrera and Bautista Rossi, respectively. First, Herrera fielded a pass from Rossi and delivered a goal in the 18-yard box with finesse, escaping three Omaha defenders before hesitating and finishing for the score. Herrera's impact play was followed up less than three minutes later by a bold long-range goal from Rossi. Rossi took the shot from near midfield, the ball sailing past the outstretched hands of the Omaha goalkeeper and settling in the net.
