Feldman Leads Men's Golf at Git-R-Done Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A final round 69 helped Grant Feldman post his sixth straight top 20 finish as the Creighton senior led the Bluejays to a 10th place finish at the Git-R-Done Invitational on Tuesday in Lincoln, Neb.
Feldman, who placed second and first in his first two tournaments of the fall, stood in a tie for 48th after an opening-round 74, then followed that with loops of 71 and 69 to tie for 18th place with a 214 total. The reigning two-time BIG EAST Golfer of the Week has now had at least one round of par or lower in 13 consecutive tournaments. Feldman's career scoring average dropped to 73.011, edging him ahead of Shaun Campbell's 73.014 for the best mark by any Bluejay in the past 25 seasons.
Sophomore Gavin Gerch tied for 31st place while playing on a course quite familiar to the Lincoln native, as he shot circuits of 73, 72 and 72 for a 217 aggregate.
Owen Price led Creighton through two rounds with scores of 72 and 71 before closing with a 75. His 218 total tied him for 36th place.
Jacob Kutner broke 70 for the first time as a Bluejay with an opening-round 69, then shot 78 and 75 to tie for 48th at 222 overall.
Tying for 62nd place was Brock Kuhlman (79-79-71=229), two places ahead of individual Carson Wright (79-73-80=232).
Creighton (288-292-287=867) finished in 10th of the 12-team field. The event was won by tournament host Nebraska (272-277-274=823) by 17 shots over runner-up Kansas State (275-286-279=840).
K-State's Alex Lindstrom (63-69-68=200) tied for medalist honors with Nebraska's Rudy Sautron (66-70-64=200). The field featured 66 golfers who competed on Firethorn Golf Course's par 71 course that measured 7,077 yards.
The Bluejays are back in action next Monday in Erie, Colo., at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
