West and Drehs Guide Hot Hitting Softball Offense in 15-3 Run-Rule Victory at Seton Hall

The win moves the Bluejays to 8-14 on the season and 2-0 in BIG EAST play for just the sixth time since joining the league in 2014, while Seton Hall fell to 6-9 overall and 0-2 in league action.
The Bluejays captured the win after scoring two in the first, six in the second, three in the third and four more in the fourth to storm out to a 15-0 lead.
Greenwood beat out an infield single to open the contest and came in to score two pitches later as West launched her second home run of the season to give the Jays a 2-0 lead.
The Jays stayed hot in the second, plating six runs on six hits and a walk to soar out in front 8-0. Avery Barnard opened the scoring with a two-run triple off the left field wall, before and RBI single from Greenwood extended the lead to 5-0. West and Kaelan Schultz followed with back-to-back RBI doubles and Tara Vandewater laced an RBI single back up the middle to push the Jays advantage out to 8-0.
Creighton would extend their lead in the third, using another two-run triple from Greenwood and an RBI single from West to take an 11-0 lead.
CU would add on four additional runs in the fourth with an RBI single from Ella Dalton and back-to-back RBI doubles from Greenwood and West to jump out in front 15-0, before Seton Hall capped off the scoring with three runs in the bottom half of the fourth.
Drehs earned the first win of her collegiate career after allowing three runs on four hits with one strikeout, while Landrie Harris closed the door tossing 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. West and Greenwood paced the Bluejays offensive with four hits and five RBI apiece, while Vandewater finished with a pair of base knocks.
Creighton and Seton Hall will wrap up their three-game series on Sunday with a contest at 11 a.m. CT.
