- Groth did not appear in a game during the 2015 season due to an injury and earned a redshirt.
2014 (Sophomore at Creighton)
- Groth appeared in eight games, including six starts.
- Austin threw two scoreless innings from the bullpen to earn his first victory of the season in Creighton’s 8-0 win against Minnesota on Feb. 23.
- He tossed a season-high 4.1 innings in two consecutive starts on March 23 and March 29.
2013 (Freshman at Creighton)
- Groth appeared in 12 games, including 11 starts. Austin held Illinois State to one run in 4.2 innings in Creighton’s 9-4 win at Illinois State on May 7.
- Austin posted his longest outing, tossing five innings on April 7 to earn his second win of the season. Groth limited Bradley to one run in the 7-3 victory.
- Groth allowed one run on two hits in two innings in his first start, facing North Dakota on March 14.
- Austin allowed three runs on two hits and two walks in his first appearance of 2013 on March 1 against BYU.
2009-12 (South Sioux City High School)
- Groth earned a combined eight letters in baseball (four) and basketball (four) as a Cardinal.
- Austin was a four-time All-River Cities First Team selection in baseball and nabbed the honor three times in basketball.
- A three-time All-Nebraska First Team member, Groth was 6-1 with an 0.93 ERA during his senior season.  The right-hander closed the year with 52 strikeouts.
- The South Sioux City, Neb. native finished his junior campaign (Legion and school baseball combined) with a 12-3 record in 81 2/3 innings pitched. Groth collected 144 strikeouts against just 26 free bases handed out. Â
- Groth also played a key role in South Sioux City’s back-to-back basketball titles, earning All-State and All-Metro honors after averaging 19.5 points as a junior and 17.4 points as a sophomore.
