After three seasons at Butler, Cleary joined the Bluejays in the fall of 2016. In addition to his work on the field, Cleary will be instrumental for Creighton as a staff administrator.
With the Bulldogs, Cleary was responsibile for coaching the infielders and assisting with the hitters. During the 2015 campaign, Butler set a school record by posting a program best .970 fielding percentage.

Cleary’s first coaching role came at his alma mater, Menlo College in Atherton, Calif., where he was an assistant coach. Cleary initially worked as the outfield coach during the 2012-2013 season, then was promoted to pitching coach in September 2013.
In his first season at Menlo, the program reached the Cascade Conference Championship game and broke the school record in wins (34). Cleary also helped them reach a top-five national ranking in fielding percentage (.970). During his stint at Menlo, Cleary coached two MLB draftees, five All-Cascade Conference players, an NAIA All-American, and a conference player of the year.

Cleary graduated from Menlo College with a degree in Sports Management in 2012. He was part of the program’s first regional appearance and Cascade Conference Championship.
