2021 (Sophomore)
- Wegner started in the outfield in each of the first 17 games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury during an April 17 home game against San Jose State.
- Jared tallied a hit in 11 of 17 games, including six multi-hit performances, for a .277 average.
- Wegner went 3-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI on March 5 against Omaha in the inaugural game at Tal-Anderson Field.
- He scored two runs on two hits in Bluejay wins against Bradley (March 28) and Villanova (April 9).
- Starting each of the Bluejays’ first five games of the games of the season, Wegner was proving to be a bright spot in the lineup prior to breaking his hand during a Feb. 22 plate appearance at San Jose State.
- In his 18 at bats of the shortened season, Jared recorded five hits (.278 AVG), three RBI, and a .409 OBP.
- In the season opener on Feb 14 at Seattle, Wegner homered to drive in the Bluejays' first run of the year in his first plate appearance. Jared finished the game with a line of 2-2 with two walks, two RBI, and a stolen base.
- Wegner saw action in 43 games, making 38 starts in the outfield in the 2019 season.
- Jared closed the year with a .264 average, 20 RBI, seven doubles, one home run and eight multi-hit games.
- He smashed a grand slam in his first game as a Bluejay, helping claim a 13-8 win over Arkansas-Little Rock on Feb. 16.
- Jared hit .340 with 17 hits in conference play to collect a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
- A three-sport athlete for Kearney High School, Jared was the 13th ranked prospect in Nebraska, by Prep Baseball Report.
- Prior to high school, Wegner played in the 2012 Little League World Series with his Kearney squad.
- Hobbies outside of baseball include hunting and fishing
- Majoring in Business Management and Marketing and hopes to own his own business in the future
- Chose Creighton to be part of a winning program that has high expectations
