
Zach Daeges Named Second-Team All-Region

It is the second consecutive season he has been honored by the ABCA on the All-Region Team, as he was a first-team pick last year at designated hitter.
The 6-5 left-swinging slugger led Creighton in nearly every offensive category this season, including batting average (.350), runs (59), homers (13), RBI (49), walks (49), slugging percentage (.650), on-base percentage (.496) and total bases (117). On CU's career list, he ranks fourth in doubles and RBI, fifth in walks, sixth in homers, seventh total bases, ninth in runs scored and 10th in hits. He finished his career with a .335 average in 711 at bats. He is a two-time first-team all-MVC selection, as a designated hitter in 2005 and a utility player in 2006.
Earlier this month, Daeges was named a second-team All-American at third base by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

In addition to his on the field success, Daeges was selected as a CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American each of the past two seasons. He graduated from Creighton with an accounting degree in May.
