Scouting Creighton (28-21, 12-6 BIG EAST)
The Bluejays had a bit of a roller coaster week starting with a 9-8 win in 13-innings over #7 Kansas. The Bluejays, however dropped its series opening game to Georgetown 4-3. Creighton rallied the next day for a 9-5 win, but dropped the series finale to the Hoyas.
Creighton looks to close out the season strong with a win over intra-state rival Nebraska in the final home game of the season, then best bitter rival Xavier in the final series.Â
Ben North and Nate McHugh have been the guiding beacons for the Bluejay offense all season. North leads the way at .344, while McHugh checks in at .314.
On the bump the Bluejays saw some great innings from Shane Curtin and Anthony Unga in relief last week to defeat Kansas. As a team Creighton has battled through injuries, but could be getting healthy at the opportune time.
Scouting #24 Nebraska (37-15, 20-7 Big Ten)
In the midst of one of the best seasons in recent history, Nebraska is looking to make a closing argument to host a regional in Lincoln. To do so the Cornhuskers may need to win out.
Mac Moyer remains the head of the table for Nebraska, hitting at the top of the order and leading Nebraska with a .378 average. As a team Nebraska brings a .313 average.
On the mound the Cornhuskers carry a 4.75 ERA with projected starter Cooper Katskee bringing his 5.23 ERA to Charles Schwab Field Omaha
Scouting Xavier (25-27, 13-5 BIG EAST)
Xavier has remained on brand throughout the 2026 season, playing one of the toughest schedule in the country and turningÂ
it on as the calendar turns to late May and the BIG EAST Tournament.
On the mound the Musketeers have struggled with a team ERA over 6.50, yet starters Ryan Reich and Ashton Chronister carry a sub 4.00 ERA.
At the plate Xavier's tribal chief is Clay Burdette, hitting .360 with 17 home runs. As a team the Musketeers bring an average of .308.

Second Repeat Foursome Since BIG EAST Reformation
The foursome heading to Mason for the BIG EAST Tournament may look familiar as it is the same four that made the trip last season. The only other time the same four teams reached the BIG EAST Tournament was in 2017 and 2018 when Creighton, St. John's, Seton Hall and Xavier battled.Â
The only thing left to decide in the BIG EAST is what seed are earned by Creighton, Connecticut, Xavier and St. John's.
Final Four Games of the Regular Season Mean Everything
Each of the final four games of the 2026 regular season for Creighton and their opponents.Â
The final home game brings state rival Nebraska, which is more than enough to get the juices flowing for both dugouts.Â
Nebraska is looking to make a case to host a regional, extend its 11-game win streak at Charles Schwab Field Omaha and sweep a season series from Creighton for the first time since 2015.
The Bluejays would love to play spoiler to the Huskers' plans and reaffirm their hold on the Chuck as well as collect another home win against a ranked opponent.
Moving to the Xavier series, the first game on Thursday will be played at the home of the Cincinnati Reds (Great American Ballpark). The series also carries additional meaning as one game separates the four teams heading to Prasco Park.
BIG EAST Magic Number Remains 11
Since Creighton joined the BIG EAST in 2014, just three teams with double digit victories in conference play have missed the BIG EAST Tournament.Â
St. John's missed the postseason with a 10-16 mark (.385) in 2021, Creighton missed the mark last year at 10-11 in 2023 and Seton Hall stayed home at 10-11 in 2025.
That number is likely to remain just three as the fifth place team Butler enters the final weekend at 8-10.
