The teams played to a scoreless first half, but
Northover broke the scoreless tie in the 72nd minute as she found the back of the net from eight yards out. Only 3:17 later, Northover scored again when she sent a shot from the left that bounced off of Casey's hands, hit the crossbar, and went in for a goal.
Gans pulled Creighton within a goal at the 85:09 mark, as she took a pass over the top of the defense from sophomore Eden Hingwing for a breakaway. Gans then beat
Creighton was led offensively by Gans and sophomore Shawn Magrum, who each had two shots on goal in the match. Northover and Shannon Duggan each had four shots on goal for the Redbirds.
“We were flat from the get-go,” said head coach Bruce Erickson. “We played better in the final six minutes, but until then we were uninspired. We have to be better than that.”
