OMAHA, Neb. ? Creighton extended its winning streak to 11 games with an 8-0 run-rule victory over Kansas in game one of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at the CU Sports Complex, before the Jayhawks ended the streak with a 6-3 decision in the nightcap. Tara Oltman hurled a three-hit shutout in the opener, Renae Sinkler went 5-for-8 on the day and Bailey Dawson hit two home runs in the twin bill as the Bluejays moved their record to 26-11 on the season after the split.
In game one, the Bluejays struck for two runs in the first inning off of Kansas (28-9) ace Valerie George. Dawson, the second batter of the game for CU, connected for her first of two solo home runs on the day, taking a full count offering over the right center field fence. TJ Eadus followed with a walk and with two outs Michelle Graner also walked to put two runners on base for Laura Kratochvil. The junior designated player singled to right field to score Eadus and the Jays led 2-0 after one.

The Jayhawk shortstop misplayed the ball hit by Jadlowski and kept the inning alive. Dawson followed with a ground-rule double to center field to put two runners in scoring position for Eadus. The CU catcher ripped a ball to third that Val Chapple misplayed for an error and Jadlowski scored. Sinkler the followed with a two-run double and CU was up 5-0.
The Jays added two more runs in the fourth, the first on another RBI double by Sinkler. The second CU run scored when KU catcher Brittany Hile dropped the ball, allowing Dawson to slide home safely to escape a run-down.
Sinkler again led to the final run of the game, as she led off the sixth inning with a single. Jess Stigge pinch-ran for Sinkler and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. She then crossed the plate when KU shortstop Crisosto made her second error of the game on a sharply hit ball by Kratochvil.
Dawson went 2-for-2 with an RBI and three runs scored in the victory and Sinkler finished 3-for-4 with three RBI, while pushing her team-leading doubles total to 10.
