OMAHA, Neb. -- Lindsay Vaught scored the game-winning goal and added an assist as the Creighton women's soccer team topped Portland State, 3-1, on Friday night at Morrison Stadium. Both teams found the back of the net in the opening five minutes of the match. Just 3:18 later, Portland State forward Kat Robertson scored her second goal of the year to even the score at 1.
Lindsay Vaught gave the Bluejays the lead for good in the 37th minute with a header off a cross from Erin Gunther. With the assist, Gunther is now tied for the team lead in with three.
Creighton's final tally came in the 67th minute from senior Marcy Gans, who slid to finish off a feed from Vaught. Freshman Macy Mauer was also credited an assist on the play.

Kristen Casey had five saves on the evening, as she went over the 200 save mark for her career (202).
Creighton head coach Bruce Erickson was pleased with the effort in the second half. "We made adjustments at halftime, and in the second half I thought we really controlled the tempo. It was a big improvement over last week."
Creighton returns to action on Sunday with a 1 pm road match at Iowa. With a win, the Bluejays can notch their 200th win in program history.
