Women's Tennis Breaks Sacred Heart, 6-1

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Creighton women's tennis team kept rolling, as they posted their fifth straight victory with a 6-1 win over Sacred Heart (3-3), Monday morning at Star Island.
"We've been playing pretty well," said head coach Tom Lilly. "It was a nice start to our spring break trip," he added.
Creighton (6-4) swept through doubles play with three wins, as Sarah and Leesa Cadwallader opened play at No. 1 doubles with an 8-6 victory over Carcy Demers and Julianne Kasinow. Kelsey Schmidt and Anna Kirshenbaum followed with an 8-5 over Elizabeth Harrington and Kristina Chao. Tess Reddin and Mary Pat McMullan won their second match as new partners with an 8-1 drubbing of Kate Donnelly and Delaney Dowling.
Schmidt took the lone singles setback for CU, falling at No. 3 to Harrington, 7-5, 6-4. It was all Bluejays after that, as Creighton swept through the rest of their singles matches without losing a set.
Reddin topped Donnelly 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1, Kirshenbaum defeated Demers 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2, Mastro downed Chao, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4, Lindsey Erickson topped Kasinow 6-1, 6-1 and McMullan ended the evening with a 6-1, 6-2 over Downing at No. 6.
Creighton will continue its four-match spring break trek tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. with a dual against Fairfield.
