OMAHA, Neb. - In their final match at home for the 2011 season, the women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Illinois State. The Jays (11-8, 1-4) fell in all three doubles matches to the Redbirds (7-9, 3-1) and only took one singles match to three sets.
The Redbirds started off the scoring spree by defeating the Jays in all three doubles. In the No. 3 doubles, Carolina Abello and Heather Nisbet defeated Kelsey Schmidt and Lauren Mastro 8-3. ISU guaranteed themselves the automatic doubles point by winning the No. 2 doubles, with Hannah Esker and Ariane Maack defeating sisters Leesa Cadwallader and Sarah Cadwallader 8-2. The doubles were finished when Aniko Kiss and Phyllis Tigges defeated Anna Kirshenbaum and Analese Snyder 8-1.
