Women's Tennis Sweeps St. Cloud State, 7-0

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The Creighton women's tennis team won their second match in a row on Saturday, defeating St. Cloud State 7-0 in Grand Forks. The Bluejays swept through the doubles play to pick up the single point and then swept in straight-sets at every singles position.
Analese Snyder and Kelsey Schmidt teamed up at the No. 1 doubles to defeat Cassandra Brown and Katie Kotschevar in a close 8-6 final. The No. 2 and 3 doubles were both controlled by the Bluejays, as Jennie Hartjes and Taylor Koehrsen defeated Tanya Halloran and Catarina Franca 8-1 at the No. 2 spot and Mary McMullan and Elizabeth Vermillion downed Kayla Buckley and Hanna Kantor 8-1 at the No. 3 singles.
Creighton continued their dominance in singles play, sweeping through without dropping a set. Hartjes led things off by downing Cassandra Brown 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles.
Schmidt and McMullan both posted 6-0, 6-1 finals, as schmidt defeated Katie Kotschevar at the No. 2 singles and McMullan beat Tanya Halloran at the No. 3 singles.
To finish out play, Koehrsen defeated Tori MArlton 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 5 singles and Amanda Noonan closed out play with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Savannah Bray.
The Bluejays will be in action again tomorrow morning when they play host North Dakota at 10:00 am.
