Women's Tennis Opens Florida Trip With Sweep of Rochester

Jays win every set in the sweep
LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Creighton women's tennis team opened its annual spring trip to Florida with a 7-0 sweep over the University of Rochester. The Bluejays improved to 5-3 with their fifth straight win, never dropping a set.
Ashley Ishimura and Darby Rosette combined to post an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, and both women also won easily in singles play. Ishimura won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Rosette took a 6-1, 6-2 decision.
Katherine Nelsen won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles while Claire Embree won 6-2, 6-1 at in the fourth slot to clinch the match victory. Also picking up wins were Sam Anderson and Ashley Monaco at No. 5, and No. 6, respectively. Embree & Anderson as well as Nelsen & Karlin Naslund also won in doubles play.
Creighton returned to the court on Monday evening for a match vs. Charlotte.
