Newcomers Shine in Women's Soccer Scrimmage

Freshmen Notch Five Goals
Omaha, Neb. -- Freshman Hannah Miller's two goals highlighted the Creighton's women's soccer team's Blue/White scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 5.
Miller opened the scoring late in the first period, connecting on an unassisted goal in the 43rd minute to send the White team into the break with a 1-0 lead.
The scoring ramped up in the second half as freshman Caeley Lordemann knotted the match in the 53rd minute. Lordemann converted a pass from fellow newcomer, Kylin Grubb.
Miller pushed the White team back out to a 2-1 lead in the 73rd minute, sending a pass from freshman Ashleigh Cearlock from 25 yards out.
Grubb responded quickly with an unassisted blast from 40 yards out to make it 2-2.
The final goal of the contest came in the 86th minute as freshman Cassie Legband delivered an unassisted goal for the White team.
The Bluejays face Kansas in their first exhibition contest of the season on Friday, Aug. 12 in Lawrence, Kan. at 7:00 pm.
