LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Creighton women's tennis team fell 4-3 against Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon at the Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb.
The Bluejays are now 2-3 overall, while the Eagles are 2-6.
Eastern Michigan clinched the doubles point with victories at all three doubles positions.
Creighton picked up victories at No. 3, 4 and 5 singles, but Eastern Michigan sealed the overall dual with wins at the No. 1, 2 and 6 slots.
"The girls competed well and we had our chances," head coach Tom Lilly said. "Some of the matchups just weren't in our favor, but we have to become more diverse and be able to play different styles and against different styles a little better."
Claire Embree gave the Bluejays their first win in singles with a straight-sets victory at No. 5, 6-1, 6-2.
Eastern Michigan regained the match lead with wins at the No. 1 and No. 6 positions.
Hylan Miller (No. 3) and Michaela Henne (No. 4) earned wins to give Creighton a chance at the overall match, but the Eagles' Ani Gogvadze won 6-4, 6-3 over Darby Rosette at No. 2 singles to give Eastern Michigan its second dual victory of the season.
