Scouting the Bluejays:Â (2017: 24-25, 11-4 BIG EAST)
Creighton enters the 2018 season with some questions to be answered in the pitching rotation. Senior Ryan Tapani brings the most experience, while graduate transfer Preston Church provides a needed veteran presence as well. Tapani is slated to open the season on the bump, while the graduate transfer Church will start Sunday's contest.
At the plate, junior backstop Michael Emodi and sophomore second baseman Isaac Collins lead a veteran group of position players for the Creighton. The Bluejays return seven of their nine starters in the field from last season.
About Northeastern
Northeastern Head Coach: Mike Glavine
Scouting the Huskies (2017: 29-25, 16-7 Colonial Athletic)
Like the Bluejays, Northeastern's rotation is in flux. One significant difference is the Huskies return their ace, Brian Christian. The Friday starter went 7-3 with a 3.59 ERA in 82.2 innings last season.
Northeastern sophomore Scott Holzwasser looks to continue to build on his stellar freshman campaign, earning him a spot on the 2018 Preseason All-CAA Team.
The Huskies will play their first 12 game in Florida, returning home after each weekend series.  Â
