Women's Tennis Falls to Iowa State

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Creighton women's tennis team fell 4-0 to Iowa State on Saturday afternoon in Lincoln, Nebraska during its last match before Spring Break.

Creighton dropped to 5-4 on the year, while Iowa State moved to 6-2.

The Bluejays started strong in doubles, taking the lead with a 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot from the duo of Erin Epperson and Kendra Lavallee. Creighton couldn't keep the momentum however, falling short at the No. 2 spot with a 6-1 defeat as well as a 6-4 setback at No. 1 as the Cyclones earned the doubles point.

Iowa State capitalized on the momentum gained with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot. The Cyclones continued the hot streak with wins at No. 5 (6-1,6-4) and No. 4 (6-2, 6-3) to clinch the overall dual victory.

The Bluejays' next matches will be in Orlando, Florida. Creighton faces John Carroll on March 5 for its first of five matches during a Spring Break trip to Florida.
