Men's Tennis Falls At #21 Oklahoma State To Start Spring Season

STILLWATER, Okla. -- The Creighton men's tennis team started its spring dual slate with a 7-0 loss at No. 21 Oklahoma State on Saturday at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The Bluejays fell to 0-1, while the Cowboys improved to 2-0.
Creighton's top doubles team of Stratton Brown and Mac Mease kept the first match of the day within reach before Oklahoma State secured a 6-4 win. Armando Gandini and Joe Hoff fell 6-3 at the No. 2 position as the Cowboys earned the doubles point.
Nationally-ranked Oklahoma State continued to control the match with straight-sets victories during five of the six singles matches.
Jose Oscar Diaz competed in the lone three-set singles match and earned a 6-4 win in his opening set at the No. 4 slot, but lost 6-3 in the second and 10-5 in the tiebreaker third set.
Gandini forced a second-set tiebreaker during the No. 3 singles match, but dropped a 7-2 decision.
Creighton wraps up its weekend trip to Oklahoma with a match on Sunday morning in Norman against No. 13 Oklahoma at 11 a.m.
