Women's Golf To Host Creighton Classic

OMAHA, Neb. -- Head coach Debbie Conry and the Creighton Women's Golf team will host the Creighton Classic Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 7-8) at Oak Hills Country Club (12325 Golfing Green Drive). The Oak Hills course will play to a par 73 layout and measure 5,952 yards.

Teams scheduled to compete are Creighton, Bellevue, Drake, Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Iowa. UNI won last year's eight-team event with a 602 total, led by top-three finishes from Sydney Eaton and Hannah Bermel. South Dakota's Katie Bartlett won last year's tournament with a 1-over score of 147.

The top Bluejay finisher last year at the Creighton Classic was Katie Allen, who placed ninth. Allen has finished in the top-11 of all three events for the Bluejays this fall, including a victory on Sept. 17 at the Loyola Fall Invitational that earned her BIG EAST Golfer of the Week accolades. The sophomore's 75.8 scoring average per round leads CU, two shots better than freshman Gabby Tremblay's 77.8 and junior Margaret Hickey's 78.1.

Amelia Lee and Claire Orcutt will also help CU in the team standings, with Katie Wilson, Kristin Goertz and Delaney Benson competing as individuals.

The five-team event will feature 36 players overall, and is the final tournament of the fall for Creighton.

Tee times on Monday start at 10:00 a.m., and Tuesday tee times start at 9:30 a.m. The event is open to the public and admission is free both days.
