Women's Tennis Runs Into Strong Seton Hall Squad During Second Competition Day In Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Creighton women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Seton Hall on Wednesday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
The Bluejays moved to 4-8 overall and 1-2 against BIG EAST competition, while the Pirates improved to 8-4 during the spring and 2-0 in league matches.
Creighton's lone win came during the No. 2 singles match. Sarah Wilcox claimed a 6-3, 5-7, 10-7 victory for her third consecutive singles win. The freshman leads the Bluejays with five singles victories this spring (5-4).
Seton Hall won 6-3 and 6-1 at the top two spots during doubles action and earned four straight-sets victory and one three-frame win to secure the overall match.
A 6-4, 6-0 Pirate victory at the No. 6 singles position sealed the dual.
The Bluejays' Michaela Henne battled in three sets at No. 3 singles but fell by a narrow margin. The senior lost the first set 6-3 but bounced back for a 6-2 win in the second. During the 10-point tie breaker to decide the match, Seton Hall earned a 10-4 victory.
Creighton concludes its stay in Florida with a match against Xavier at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday morning.
