Bluejays have claimed five consecutive wins and seven in their last eight matches
The Bluejays improved to 9-4 and have won seven of their last eight matches.
Meredith Benson and Gabby O'Connor combined for a 6-1 win at No. 3 singles, while Kate Krueger and Sarah Wilcox claimed their seventh consecutive No. 1 doubles win, 6-2, to help Creighton take the first point of the day.
The Bluejays closed out the match with four straight-sets singles wins and one in three sets. Wilcox clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 2 position. Emma Gener (No. 3), O'Connor (No. 5) and Benson (No. 6) also won in straight-sets. Erin Epperson posted Creighton's final win of the day with a tightly contested match at the fourth position. Epperson won the first set 6-4, but lost the second set 7-5. In the deciding third-set 10-point tiebreaker, the junior outlasted her opponent 15-13.
"Our team showed up ready to compete and handled a few tough moments well," head coach Tom Lilly said. "We have a short turn around with another conference match in the morning so we are taking this just like the conference tournament. We will be ready to go."
Creighton returns to the courts at 8:30 a.m. Central for a match against Providence.
