Women's Tennis Sweeps Quincy, 7-0, Ends Week In Florida Without A Loss

Bluejays went 4-0 in Florida and improved to 11-4 overall
Creighton also pushed its overall winning streak to seven matches and improved to 11-4 overall.
The Bluejays lost only two games during doubles action. Kate Krueger and Sarah Wilcox combined for their ninth consecutive win at the No. 1 doubles position and improved to 11-2 this season with a clean 6-0 victory on Thursday. Erin Epperson and Emma Gener finished the week 3-0 as a pair after a 6-1 win at No. 2, while Meredith Benson and Julia King teamed up for a 6-1 win at No. 3.
Creighton won in straight-sets at all six singles positions and three different players did not lose a game. Wilcox pushed her winning streak to six matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3, Gener improved to 10-2 this season without losing a game in the No. 2 match and Julia Aguirre recorded her first victory of the season with a clean sweep at the No. 6 position. Erin Epperson pushed her season record to 10-3 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 4 position and Meredith Benson also won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 and moved to 9-3 overall. Krueger claimed a 6-1, 6-3 win at the top slot and moved to 9-5 this season.
"This was a great spring break for the team," head coach Tom Lilly said. "We had two tough conference matches and won them both and handle the other two teams with class. To be 11-4 heading into the tail end of the season is tremendous. We continue to improve and play with a lot of effort."
Creighton returns to action on March 28 for a home match against Drake. The Bluejays conclude the regular season with four home matches before the BIG EAST Championship (April 16-19, Cayce, South Carolina).
